Ashley Young
Undergraduate Student, Mechanical Engineering and Communications
What are you are studying/what you are interested in studying and/or researching while at Purdue? If you have done internships or other applicable experiences, feel free to include them here.
I am studying Mechanical Engineering and I am interested specifically in studying the space exploration applications and how the process of creating spacecraft can become more efficient.
What made you want to join the Leading Women Toward Space Careers program?
I wanted to join the Leading Women Toward Space Careers program because I really enjoyed the experience of having a mentor through Purdue’s SWE program. I look forward of having the support of other women with similar ambitions and goals as I do, as well as learning from wisdom of experienced women in the field.
What area would you like to work in after graduation? (What career path, interests, opportunities, etc., would you like to accomplish? What field are you interested in?)
I would like to work in either privatized or public space exploration, specifically the extension components of rovers or probes. My goal is to play a part in making data collection on celestial bodies more efficient and in depth.
